Cadec Corp.'s Mobius TTS onboard computer can now be equipped with a wireless modem that will allow it to communicate over both satellite and land-based wireless networks.

Supplied by Aether Systems, the Multimode Modem automatically selects the lower cost land-based network if it is available. When out of land network coverage, it automatically switches to the higher-cost satellite network.

Cadec has also announced new handheld computer capability and Point of Delivery (POD) software for the Mobius TTS. Running on the Symbol 2800 handheld, POD allows drivers to automate collection of delivery information including invoice updates, product verification, electronic payment, reconciliation and signature capture. The software also features Onboard Delivery Coach, a software review that alerts drivers to delivery shortages, overages and other errors.
