Index Sensors and Controls has appointed truck industry veteran Gary Wilson as marketing and sales manager – Heavy Vehicle & Equipment Markets.
Wilson has experience in truck HVAC and electrical power management systems. He has held positions at QS Generator Systems and Trace Engineering (now Xantrex Technology), two companies that helped pioneer onboard AC power in trucks.
During his time as vp, engineering at QS Generator, Wilson played a key role in developing the first cogeneration auxiliary power unit for trucks that included an AC generator and stand-alone air conditioning system.
As the heavy-truck market segment manager for Trace Engineering, he spearheaded an industry move to onboard AC power inverters and chargers, allowing long-distance truckers to use cheaper and more efficient AC-powered accessories instead of DC-powered systems.
