The freight exchange DAT Services has been acquired by TransCore Inc., which just last year purchased the Amtech asset tracking business and Viastar fleet management services. With projected 2001 sales revenue of $340 million, DAT and its international EuroDAT operations offer electronic load-posting through video monitors in truck stops and through Internet e-commerce networks.

Amtech provides asset tracking technology based on radio frequency ID (RFID) tags for trucking, rail and other transportation modes. Viastar offers fuel-tax reporting, cash management and other fleet services. TransCore, a privately held transportation services company, has indicated that it will develop integrated supply chain services based on the three recent acquisitions.
