Ohio Lowers Tolls, Ups Speed Limit

Oct. 14, 2004
Truck tolls on the Ohio Turnpike will fall 27% for an 80,000 lb. truck, and 57% for trucks heavier than 80,000 lb

Truck tolls on the Ohio Turnpike will fall 27% for an 80,000 lb. truck, and 57% for trucks heavier than 80,000 lb, according to the American Trucking Associations.

The rate cut, which is effective for 18 months, is intended to reduce congestion on secondary roads. A recent speed limit increase at the Turnpike to 65 mph from 55 mph, as well as stricter weight enforcement on alternate routes, is expected to bring even more truck traffic on the highway.
