Supply chain systems provider Savi Technology said 10 new companies have agreed to adopt Savi's Universal Data Appliance Protocol (UDAP) to link information from automated data collection devices to the company's Internet-based SmartChain software system. The new UDAP partners bring the total to 18 companies that support this protocol, which was introduced last October.
Sunnyvale, CA-based Savi said UDAP encompasses a wide range of wireless collection and identification technologies. The new partnerships add biometrics, motion sensors and video imaging, which can be linked through UDAP to Savi's Internet-based Asset Management System software application, the company said.
Savi added that each partner supporting UDAP receives a royalty-free license and technical support to integrate the protocol, which supports real-time communication of captured data directly to Savi's SmartChain software and supply chain asset management and security applications.
