International Truck and Engine Corp. has named Patrick Charbonneau vice president of government relations

International Truck and Engine Corp. has named Patrick Charbonneau vice president of government relations. Charbonneau, who has held a variety of leadership roles at International, including director of purchasing, vp-engine engineering, and vp-regulatory and technology affairs, will now lead the company in expanding its capability to support corporate business units in the U.S. and globally.

International, the operating company of Navistar International Corp., recently announced expansion plans in the U.S., as well as Brazil and India, and has begun military vehicle sales. “As our company grows to the next levels of business success, we must have informed and productive relationships with government at all levels,” said Greg Elliott, vp corporate human resources and administration. “Patrick Charbonneau’s background is well suited to make our government relations both relevant and effective.”

Charbonneau received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Dayton and an MBA from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He joined International in 1976 as an engine designer.
