East Manufacturing Corp. has introduced an aluminum winch strap capture system for flatbed trailers that it says is stronger, lighter, more corrosive-resistant, and easier to handle than traditional steel systems.
The winch is about four lb. lighter than traditional steel models, yet “pull tested” stronger, according to East. Other features include a wider footprint design that spreads shearing stress over a larger area.
The winch and winch clips are interchangeable on either side of the trailer, and both are available in a low-profile version for use in tight clearance areas.
The system also features “East side rails,” designed so that the winch and winch clips side-mount by sliding onto the rail. The side rail has a hollow core, so wiring for the lighting system can be fully enclosed.
