Ford Motor Co. said on Tuesday it would spend $335 million to upgrade an Ohio engine plant for building up to 325,000 V6 engines a year.
The Lima, OH, plant will build the new 3.5 liter V6 engine by the end of 2005 that will be used in a variety of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury cars and light trucks, Ford said.
Ford received some government tax incentives to revamp the plant, which employs about 1,600 workers.
