Peterbilt Motor Co.’s manufacturing facility in Denton, TX, is donating a new Model 378 equipped with a dump body to the city of New Orleans to assist in the cleanup efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

The company is also donating 100 cases of Ozark bottled water, 2,400 bottles in total, to be delivered to New Orleans in the truck, along with individual donations from employees to relief agencies such as non-perishable food, toiletries and other essentials.

“In addition to the contribution made to the Red Cross by our parent company Paccar [totaling $1 million], the Denton plant and its employees wanted to help in the relief efforts by giving the City of New Orleans a work-ready truck that they produced,” said Dan Sobic, Peterbilt’s general manager.
