The Illinois Dept. of Transportation (IDOT) has announced its plan for full expressway closures this summer to allow for the construction of a flyover bridge in Chicago’s south suburbs.

“The good news is that we’re planning the full expressway closures during overnight hours,” said Mike Wiater, IDOT’s resident engineer for the Kingery reconstruction project. “However, the expressway will be closed for periods as brief as 15 minutes and as long as 8 hours beginning in mid June for the installation of girders to support a new bridge connection from the eastbound Tri-State Tollway (I-80/294) to the inbound Bishop Ford Expressway (westbound I-94).”
