ATS/Sureway Transportation Co., a subsidiary of Anderson Trucking Service Inc. (ATS), has gone live with a new logistics web site using applications from BroadVision, an Internet logistics system provider based in Redwood, CA. ATS operates a fleet of 1,000 tractors ands 2,500 trailers.
Based on BroadVision One-To-One Enterprise and BroadVision Publishing Center web systems, the new site for ATS/Sureway, the logistics division of ATS, now offers customers, independent trucking contractors and transportation brokerage agents the most extensively personalized logistics services and e-business site in the trucking industry.
“We are using this site as an advanced marketing, publishing and logistics tool. It will provide transportation brokerage agents and independent trucking contractors with the most advanced capabilities in the industry,'” said Jason Netland, gm for ATS/Sureway. “Not only do we expect to see increased transportation brokerage agent recruiting and retention rates with this new site, but we also expect to save nearly $10,000 per year on publishing costs.”
Netland said he expects the new site to increase the company’s communications abilities and help eliminate most of 2,000-plus individual faxes his company sends out daily. Also, using the BroadVision Publishing Center system, ATS/Sureway said it will provide visitors with important company information, contracts and marketing materials online.
Previously, these items were published and shipped manually – a process that cost ATS thousands of dollars with every change in procedures, governmental shipping regulations or contractual agreements, the company said.
