Celadon Group is hiring Warwick, RI-based technology firm SafeData to protect its data, minimize downtime and recover and restore data quickly.

“Using a satellite-based tracking system in all of its trucks as well as other sophisticated technologies, it is critical that Celadon’s systems are up and running at all times,” said Peter Briggs, president of SafeData. “Our system should reduce Celadon’s downtime in the event of a system failure from 24 to 36 hours with its hot-site solution to less than two hours.”

Briggs said SafeData creates and maintains a mirror of its clients’ systems in its data centers so that during either planned or unplanned downtime the system switches to the “mirror,” guaranteeing continuity in two hours or less.
