Reading, PA-based Penske Truck Leasing is opening a new 24,118-sq.-ft. facility in Kansas City, MO, which represents a $6.5-million investment to consolidate two operations into one.

The new site offers five service bays, one fully automated truck washing bay and a three-lane fuel island for diesel and gasoline refueling, said Paul Prang, Penske’s senior vp—

north central region. It will also boast a wireless communication system to integrate various vehicle diagnostic and repair software systems.

Built on 11.5 acres of land, the new facility will employ some 50 workers and offers the capacity to maintain more than 1,000 vehicles onsite, added Prang. It’ll be open for service 24/7, with rental operations at the following times: Monday - Friday, 7 am to 6 pm; Saturday, 8 am to 2 am; and Sunday, 9 am to noon.
