has expanded its VMaster viscous air-sensing fan drive line to include first-fit and aftermarket applications for International and Paccar vehicles.

The new applications include Paccar [Kenworth and Peterbilt] trucks with Cummins ISC or Cat C7 and 3126E engines as well as International Class 5-7 trucks and buses with International’s T444E engines.

Horton said it plans later this year to also introduce a mid-sized VMaster drive for use with medium-duty fans and the WindMaster MS9 fan.

Existing products in the VMaster line are designed for use in Freightliner, Mack, Sterling, Ford and other makes of trucks and buses as well as off-highway equipment.

The VMaster viscous air-sensing fan drive is a pulley-mounted unit designed for use in heavy-, medium- and light-duty trucks, buses and off-highway equipment.

Horton says the drive is equipped with a large flat plate bimetal sensor that sheds debris and reduces the likelihood of engine overheating due to fan drive failure. The drive provides smooth, automatic fan transitions to optimum speed and cools only when needed, according to the company, resulting in improved engine performance, less noise and reduced fuel consumption.

According to Horton, the fan drive is lightweight, modular and features a fully sealed design for a long, maintenance-free life. VMaster is compatible with Horton’s WindMaster fans as well as fans from other manufacturers.

“We continue to invest in research and development with OEMs to meet their current and evolving needs,” said Jeff Lindgren, vp & gm. “When you purchase a Horton VMaster drive, you get the unparalleled service, delivery, reliability and innovation that distinguish Horton and its products around the world.”
