Designated model R22BS, the lightweight axle weights 255 lb. and is rated up to 22,000 lb. According to Dana, the tag axle has the same external geometry as standard drive axles, which means the conventional torque rod brackets and axles seats compatible with air-ride suspensions can be used. Housing profile and box size are common with Dana Spicer's DS404 tandem drive axle for 6x4 configurations.
