Kenworth wins alternative fuel award

Kenworth Truck Co. received the 2007 Industry Innovation Award for alternative fuel trucks at the Alternative Fuels & Vehicle National Conference and Expo held last week. The award recognized Kenworth’s T800 liquefied natural gas truck.

The Kenworth T800 is equipped with Westport Innovation’s LNG fuel system installed on a Cummins 15-liter engine.

Kenworth's current environmental efforts also include the new Kenworth Clean Power no-idle system, which enters production this summer, and the Kenworth T270 Class 6 hybrid truck, which was displayed at the conference.
