Truckload carrier Schneider National is looking to fill 100 truck driver slots within a 60-mile radius of Laurinburg, N.C., in the next month. The jobs would involve hauling freight for glass manufacturer Pilkington and making deliveries along the East Coast.

Schneider stressed that prior driving experience is not necessary, as it plans to offer positions in its company-paid truck driver-training program to support these job openings.

Inexperienced drivers applying for these new positions would earn an average of $30,500 to $39,500 in their first year. Experienced drivers will earn an average of $43,500-$54,000 per year.

Owner-operators leasing with Schneider National will average $135,000-$145,000 annually. The company is also offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for experienced drivers as well as owner-operators.
