A United Parcel Service (UPS) driver in Missouri got a scare last week when he found a live 9-foot albino python in his delivery truck, reported the Associated Press. Brian Adams, 41, called animal control and the python was taken to the St. Charles County Pet Adoption Center.
It was later determined that David Ostermeyer, 19, was the owner of the python. The python was supposed to be delivered in an overnight-air box to Ostermeyer’s address but when he opened it, it was empty.
Ostermeyer picked up the python at the shelter, using his receipt, UPS tracking number and the empty box as proof of ownership. However, snakes aren’t on the UPS list of live animals acceptable for shipment.
