Haldex says it has reduced the life-cycle costs of its spring brake line through the use of new “double diaphragm” technology, which helps eliminate contamination of the brake chamber. The double-diaphragm on the Haldex/Anchorlok Life Seal spring brake seals it completely to prevent water, oil, salt and other corrosive materials from getting in.
The seal does not require vent holes, air filters, caging tool plugs, or external breather tools. Instead, air is exhausted via an internal vale through the vehicle's air system. According to Haldex, reducing the chance of brake chamber contamination reduces repair needs and extends the life of the spring brake. In addition, Haldex has increased the wire diameter of the Life Seal spring within the brake system, meaning the brake's output force can be maintained over a longer period of time.
The Life Seal brake can be purchased either new or with a retrofit kit for brake replacement needs. www.hbsna.com or circle 306 on reply card
