LTL conglomerate Consolidated Freightways (CF) has received a $5 million contract from Candle Lamp Co., one of the world's leading manufacturers and distributors of chafing fuels, liquid wax, candles, table lamps and related products, to provide a variety of freight services.

CF will provide Riverside, CA-based Candle Lamp with nationwide LTL freight service, cross docking and inventory management, equipment pooling and intermodal links, air freight forwarding and both expedited and guaranteed delivery services.

CF's transportation managers are working directly with Candle Lamp's logistics team to streamline an operations hub that connects Candle Lamp's Riverside operations with CF's nearby terminal at Mira Loma. CF trailers, moving across the Mexican border from Candle Lamp's manufacturing facility in Tecate, arrive in Southern California where inventory is blended before moving to Candle Lamp's distribution center in Memphis.

In special cases, Candle Lamp will ask CF to speed up freight deliveries even while freight is in transit.
