• Wabash National names Ewald sales chief

    Lafayette, IN-based truck trailer maker Wabash National Corp. has appointed Bruce Ewald as senior vp- sales & marketing.

    Ewald joined Wabash National in March 2005 as vp & gm of Wabash National Trailer Centers, the company's network of retail sales locations.

    In his new role, he will initially be responsible for creating “a lean sales organization that is focused on continual share growth, improved margins and overall process efficiencies,” according to the firm.

    "In an effort to improve the overall effectiveness of our sales groups, we are consolidating factory-direct and retail sales operations into one function," said Bill Greubel, Wabash National president & CEO. "With Bruce's leadership and extensive industry experience, this group will greatly enhance our ability to focus on customer growth and satisfaction."

    Ewald has nearly 25 years of experience in transportation. Over the past 14 years, he held executive-level positions of increasing responsibility with Paccar, Inc., including national sales manager - Paccar Parts; director—fleet sales for Peterbilt Motors; general sales manager - North America, Peterbilt Motors; and most recently, assistant general manager—sales & marketing, Peterbilt Motors.

    Wabash National also announced that Brent Larson, formerly senior vp—sales, will assume the role of senior vp—special projects & key accounts.
