    Regional LTL Con-way Freight-Central, a subsidiary of Con-way Inc., has promoted Neil Smith to director-quality assurance, responsible for the implementation of all quality procedures, programs and new initiatives.

    Smith, a 20-year veteran of the transportation industry who began his career at Con-way in 1996, will also oversee ISO 9001 and 14000 and C-TPAT compliance at the regional carrier.
