Columbus Peterbilt has sponsored courses, taught by trained and certified Peterbilt technicians, on various truck systems in the past, and this latest training focused on the electrical system of Peterbilt's low cab forward Model 320. The City of Columbus Service Department recently purchased 12 new Model 320s, bringing the total number of Model 320s in its refuse fleet to 150.
The latest training consisted of day-long sessions held in-house for the technicians at three of the City of Columbus’ maintenance facilities. Each session covered the understanding and use of Peterbilt wiring schematics, an explanation of the main cab’s flat wiring module, and the operation and troubleshooting of the SmartGage system.
“Adding value to the sale by offering training is a common practice of ours, both for the local government and other new-truck fleet customers as well,” said Tim Darr, general manager of the dealership. “It solidifies our relationship with our customers because they know we're concerned with the on-going, total care of the trucks, and not just the initial sale.”
