Third-party logistics provider USCO Logistics of Hamden, CT, has purchased Tradewind, a provider of e-commerce technology and services for the pharmaceutical industry. Tradewind is a private electronic commerce service owned by Channel Link Inc.

USCO said it would use the Tradewind system to build up the e-commerce side of its supply chain management capabilities, offering online inventory visibility, histories and reporting, enterprise resource planning and warehouse management systems integration.

USCO Logistics is a subsidiary of the Kuehne & Nagel Group, a $5 billion European logistics and freight-forwarding firm. Kuehne & Nagel acquired USCO in July of last year.
