GSC Logistics expands cross-dock operations

GSC Logistics said it plans to add 125,000 sq.-ft. of additional cross-dock space by the end of the second quarter of 2002, due to increasing demand. The third-party logistics provider added that it is considering adding another 125,000 sq.-ft. of cross-dock space by the first quarter of 2003. GSC Logistics said it plans to add 125,000 sq.-ft. of additional cross-dock space by the end of the second quarter of 2002, due to increasing demand. The third-party logistics provider added that it is considering adding another 125,000 sq.-ft. of cross-dock space by the first quarter of 2003.

Hayward, CA-based GSC said its cross-dock growth is a direct reflection of increased import/export activity from the western United States. GSC also plans to expand its transportation division, Crowne Transportation, to handle the additional freight volume fueling the demand for cross-docking services.
