Positive dealer and fleet response has convinced Peterbilt Motor Co. to expand its truck maintenance clinic offerings. Introduced last year, the maintenance clinics held at dealerships to help customers learn about and use the latest maintenance practices for Peterbilt’s products.

One recent example is the quarterly clinic held by Palm Peterbilt in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Each clinic is typically attended by up to 60 service technicians, maintenance supervisors and equipment managers from companies with Peterbilt trucks in their fleets, the truck maker said. Two of the Florida clinics, conducted by Peterbilt Motors Company training personnel, focused on preventive maintenance practices and air conditioning maintenance and repair, which included the opportunity for attendees to obtain certification from the International Mobile Air Conditioning Assn., said Peterbilt.

The other two clinics were conducted by component suppliers, which addressed cooling system maintenance, lower operating costs through engine management, suspension component life, and sealant and gasket technology. Palm Peterbilt is now planning a fall clinic focused on DOT-related issues, Peterbilt said.
