Kenworth Truck Co. has announced it is now offering the Allison 3000HS automatic transmission on its Kenworth T300 medium-duty truck and tractor models. According to KW, the Allison 3000 HS Highway Series is a vocational model transmission designed for both linehaul and local P&D applications.

The transmission, with no PTO provision, is available in both 5- and 6-speeds and has a gross torque of 1,100 lb.-ft. for 80,000-lb. GVW or GCW ratings. It features increased horsepower and torque capacity and includes a standard oil level sensor, noted the OEM.

"Kenworth continues to offer additional options for the T300, which has become a popular choice in the marketplace thanks to its reliability, durability, and low-cost of ownership," said Steve Gilligan, Kenworth general marketing manager.

The T300 is available as a straight truck or tractor in a variety of wheelbases, with single or tandem axles, air or hydraulic brakes, in GVWs from 19,500 to 54,600 pounds.
