Satamatics Ltd. has introduced Inmarsat D+, a vehicle tracking system that is designed to provide an assortment of security features.

Ocala, FL-based Satamatic said Inmarsat D+ can provide basic truck fleet management, which includes two-way messaging, telemetry and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA). In terms of vehicle security, Inmasrsat D+ can be integrated with truck and automobile security systems to provide an anti-kidnapping/anti-carjacking alarm and deterrent system.

When implemented, the system sends a priority alarm via satellite, providing vehicle location, speed, and direction. A return signal can immobilize the engine, or other local anti-terrorism actions can be initiated, said Satamatic.
