An oil management system that had previously been sold only to diesel engine makers is now available to fleets. Oil Mate, from Engineered Machined Products (EMP), works by removing a small quantity of used engine oil and blending it with diesel fuel to be burned during combustion. Oil Mate, from Engineered Machined Products (EMP), works by removing a small quantity of used engine oil and blending it with diesel fuel to be burned during combustion. The used oil is replaced by an equal amount of fresh oil from a make-up tank.

According to EMP, oil change intervals of 525,000 mi.and filter life of 100,000 mi. can be achieved with Oil Mate.
