    Leland Brake and Wheel has a new management team in place, appointing Jason Gerding president, Bill Laughlin director of sales, and Brian M. Rassin, marketing product director. Leland notes that, combined, they have over 75 years of automotive and commercial vehicle experience.

    Dubois, PA-based Leland is a Marmon Highway Technologies (MHT) company that distributes foundation and hydraulic brake parts for medium and heavy-duty trucks, trailers and buses.

    Gerding has headed up several MHT business units including Webb Wheel’s Transit Business Unit and two different business units for Fontaine Trailer Co.. After receiving his Mechanical Engineering degree from Auburn University he was hired by MHT and held several different engineering, operations and sales roles before being promoted into general management. He has been with MHT for over 13 years.

    Laughlin’s recent experience includes serving as vp, traditional sales for Motorcar Parts of America, Inc., vp of sales & marketing for Radiator Specialties. He also worked for over 25 years at Tenneco Automotive where he rose to the position of gm, specialty markets. Laughlin earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology/Chemistry from Kansas State University.

    Rassin has more than 25 years experience in marketing product management including directing several product lines including Abex, Wagner Brake and Moog Chassis. Rassin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from DePaul University. He recently joined Leland after 21 years with Federal-Mogul.

    Pedro Ferro, president of Marmon Highway Technology’s Commercial Vehicle Undercarriage group, said he is “excited for the future of Leland Brake with this energetic, seasoned and savvy team. We have already experienced positive results in our turnaround plan in the short while this team has been in place.”
