FedEx Custom Critical, the time-specific carrier subsidiary of FedEx Corp., has signed a contract with TMI's TripPak ONLINE to process shipping documents and provide workflow software tools. The scanning and processing service can store and retrieve all paper documents, certify electronic documents and interface with other management systems. TMI maintains daily document collection points at 1,500 points in the U.S. and Canada.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has contracted ALK Technologies Inc. to supply and maintain routing for its National Hazardous Materials Route Registry. A web-based service, the registry will use ALK's PC*Miler/HazMat as its routing and mapping engine.
The vehicle tracking system Locarta 2020i works with Nextel's wireless network and Microsoft MapPoint software to provide automated vehicle location and route monitoring in real-time. A second version is also available for CDPD (cellular digital packet data) wireless networks, and a third will log route data for downloading if vehicles operate outside of wireless network coverage. www.locarta.com
