Tyson not chicken about EGR

Volvo Trucks North America Inc., today announced that Tyson Foods Inc. placed an order for 227 Volvo VNL670 highway tractors with Cummins ISX EGR diesel engines conforming to stringent emission standards effective next month. Volvo Trucks North America Inc., today announced that Tyson Foods Inc. placed an order for 227 Volvo VNL670 highway tractors with Cummins ISX EGR diesel engines conforming to stringent emission standards effective next month.

Delivery of the VN tractors begins this year, with 168 scheduled in the fourth quarter. The remainder will be delivered in early 2003.

Tyson Foods is the third fleet to place a major order for the new trucks. U.S. Xpress Enterprises Inc. ordered 500 VNL780 tractors and Knight Transportation signed a long-term, non-exclusive deal to purchase VNL670 tractors.
