Cadec Corp., the developer of the Mobius TTS onboard computer and logistics management systems, has become the exclusive North American distributor for a reusable mechanical cargo seal.

Developed by the European security device company OEM Group Ltd., the Secureseal generates a unique random number every time it is closed. Recorded on a manifest or posted on a carrier's Web site, the random number offers receivers positive proof that the seal has not been opened.

The company says it is also about to release Secureseal.Data, a wireless RF (radio frequency) transmitter that will automatically sent time and date of trailer door openings to receivers in terminals or freight yards.

Cadec is also developing a wireless interface for the system that will allow its Mobius TTS OBC to remotely capture and store time, date and location information every time a trailer door is opened.
