Diesel prices slacken

The national average price for a gallon of diesel dropped 3.2 cents to $3.033, according to the Energy Information Administration. This ends a seven-week trend of price hikes.

However, not all regions experienced relief at the pumps, as the Rocky Mountain region posted the largest price gain at 3.8 cents to $3.349. The region was also the most expensive in which to fill up. The Lower Atlantic region saw the biggest rollback in prices, down 7.4 cents to $2.89—the cheapest regional price in the U.S.
