Ryder Names Maintenance Chief

Miami-based leasing and logistics provider Ryder System has named Tyrone “Ty” Cross vp- maintenance.

Miami-based leasing and logistics provider Ryder System has named Tyrone “Ty” Cross vp- maintenance. He will be responsible for the overall strategy of the company's maintenance operations consisting of nearly 7,000 employees in over 850 locations, and servicing more than 160,000 vehicles.

He will report to Dick Carson, the company’s senior vp for fleet management solutions.

Cross has over 20 years of experience in maintenance including operations, training, quality control and aftermarket logistics in the aviation and aerospace industries -- most recently with Bell Helicopter Textron. He began his maintenance career with the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division Combat Aviation Battalion at Fort Bragg, North Carolina as a helicopter mechanic and paratrooper.
