President Bush has nominated former American Trucking Assns. (ATA) official Michael P. Jackson to be deputy secretary of transportation under Norman Mineta. Jackson is vp and gm for business development at Lockheed Martin IMS Transportation Systems and Services. He served as senior vice president and counselor to the president of ATA under Thomas J. Donahue, who is now president of the U.S. Chamber

President Bush has nominated former American Trucking Assns. (ATA) official Michael P. Jackson to be deputy secretary of transportation under Norman Mineta. Jackson is vp and gm for business development at Lockheed Martin IMS Transportation Systems and Services. He served as senior vice president and counselor to the president of ATA under Thomas J. Donahue, who is now president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Jackson served as chief of staff of the DOT in 1992 and1993. He was also special assistant to the president and executive secretary for Cabinet liaison for former President Bush.
