Roadway CEO to chair research group

The American Transportation Research Institute, the research arm of the American Trucking Assns., has appointed James D. Staley as its new chairman. The president and CEO of Roadway Corp., Staley succeeds Michael W. Wickham, who was ATRI’s founding chairman and who will retire as Roadway’s chairman later this year. Created to replace the ATA Foundation, ATRI has carried out over 20 research projects
The American Transportation Research Institute, the research arm of the American Trucking Assns., has appointed James D. Staley as its new chairman.

The president and CEO of Roadway Corp., Staley succeeds Michael W. Wickham, who was ATRI’s founding chairman and who will retire as Roadway’s chairman later this year.

Created to replace the ATA Foundation, ATRI has carried out over 20 research projects in truck safety, security, environmental issues, technology and economics.
