Webb adds drum sizes

Webb Wheel Products has expanded its BTS self-cleaning brake drum line to include three new drum sizes for rear drive and trailer axle applications: 16.5×7-in., 16.5×8-in. and 16.5×8.62-in.

Webb said its BTS drum design helps reduce heat and accumulation of debris, both of which can reduce the stopping power of heavy-duty vehicle brakes. The company is currently conducting field tests in severe environments to further detail the capabilities of these drums.

According to Webb, the ribbed exterior of the BTS drum provides more surface area for improved heat dissipation. In addition, specially engineered vents allow for the removal of debris, heat and dust.

The BTS line was developed in part as a response to a recommendation from TMC for a self-cleaning drum. www.webbwheel.com
