DHL Canada buys Mayne Group Canada

DHL Worldwide Express today announced that DHL Canada is purchasing express delivery company Mayne Group Canada Inc. DHL said the purchase will make it the third-largest express delivery provider in Canada.

The purchase is slated to be final by January 31, pending regulatory approvals by the Canadian authorities.

The acquisition of Mayne Group Canada, also knows as Mayne Logistics Loomis, will allow DHL to expand its Canadian domestic market share and improve cross-border service performance with the U.S.

"Purchasing Mayne Logistics Loomis will significantly enhance DHL's presence in Canada and further our business opportunities in North America," said John Fellows, chairman & CEO of DHL Worldwide Express Americas operations. " The combined company will immediately command a much stronger position in this key market."

DHL and Mayne Logistics Loomis' combined product offering will include ground operations and air express network. DHL said the diversity of the product portfolio provides customers with a comprehensive solution to meet a variety of shipping needs from ground transport to critical express delivery.
