Chicago-based Avery Communications has reached an agreement to provide message communication services to Con-Way Now, the expedited freight-delivery subsidiary of Con-Way Transportation Services of Ann Arbor, MI.

Con-Way Now will use the OmniReach messaging platform, developed by Avery's Aelix division, to communicate quickly with a group of over 2,000 truckload fleet operators that the Con-Way subsidiary interacts with. OmniReach enables secure, real-time, bi-directional communications between companies and their customers worldwide via any type of media or device, including voice, e-mail, fax and wireless PDA, Aelix said.

"The flexibility provides a higher level of customer service than truckload operators are normally accustomed," said Ed Conaway, president & CEO of Con-Way Now.
