The center has been involved in the development of alternative fueled vehicles and compressed natural gas refueling infrastructure for the past 10 years, developing natural gas vehicle programs for utility companies and other fleets. Past customers included United Parcel Service, the New York State DOT and Connecticut Natural Gas. The center has also collaborated with Lockheed Martin and others on programs to develop hybrid vehicles.
Atlanta-based Save On Energy and its Electronic Fuel Control (EFC) division has developed, patented and commercialized electronic engine management systems that enable diesel engines to operate using natural gas without engine modifications.
