Dana Corp.’s Heavy Vehicle Technologies and Systems Service division has launched the Core-Free Carrier Program. The program is intended as a cost-saving measure that eliminates Dana’s remanufactured carriers from its product line to focus on its new carrier offerings, effective July 1. Under the new program, customers will no longer be accessed a core charge when purchasing a carrier assembly and do away with the need to return cores for credit.
Any remanufactured carriers remaining in customers’ inventory receive a two-year, unlimited miles warranty— the same as on a new carrier.
“We’ve eliminated a time-consuming and expensive aspect of our business, which will translate to better overall service to our distributors, dealers and OEM customers,” said Bernie Powers, Spicer heavy axle product manager. “The costs associated with handling cores often tied up thousands of dollars of the dealer’s money.”
