Dates, sites for HOS forums

The National Private Truck Council (NPTC) will hold a series of one-day hours-of-service forums to discuss how the proposed changes will impact fleets and drivers.The seminars will be held at the following dates and locations:* June 14, Holiday Inn (Airport), 750 Stelzer Road, Columbus, Ohio June 15, Clarion Barcelo Hotel/ O'Hare, 5615 North Cumberland Ave., Chicago* June 27, Sheraton Gateway Hotel/Atlanta

The National Private Truck Council (NPTC) will hold a series of one-day hours-of-service forums to discuss how the proposed changes will impact fleets and drivers.

The seminars will be held at the following dates and locations:

* June 14, Holiday Inn (Airport), 750 Stelzer Road, Columbus, Ohio June 15, Clarion Barcelo Hotel/ O'Hare, 5615 North Cumberland Ave., Chicago

* June 27, Sheraton Gateway Hotel/Atlanta Airport,19000 Sullivan Road, Atlanta

* June 28, Hilton Arlington, 2401 East Lamar Blvd., Arlington, Tex.

* June 29, Embassy Suites-LAX North, 9801 Airport Blvd., Los Angeles

Forum leaders are Jim Noble, NPTC's director of safety, and Matt Mlynarczyk, director of government relations.

The cost is $95 for NPTC members and $150 for non-members, including lunch and meeting materials. Attendees who bring their boss or colleagues can pay a team fee of $75 for additional persons from the same NPTC member organization and $130 for non-member organizations.

In the meantime, DOT is holding public hearings on the new rules this month: June 7-8, Ontario, Calif.; June 12-13, Golden, Colo.; June 15-16, Kansas City, Mo.; June 20-21, Indianapolis; June 26-27, Vernon, Conn.; June 29-30, Jackson, Ga.

M.S. Carriers, headquartered in Memphis, celebrated the grand opening of its new $8-million U.S.-Mexican border terminal last month. The 65,000-sq.-ft. facility is located north of Laredo, Tex.
