The fleet management system LoadMaster Enterprise Version 7.0 can now automatically update and calculate fuel surcharges based on customer and shipping locations, according to developer McLeod Software.

The system automatically downloads weekly fuel price averages from the Dept. of Energy's web site.

It then makes changes to fuel surcharges using base rates, variances and other criteria set by the fleet.

McLeod reports that fleets using the new automate function are eliminating four-to-five hours of manual calculation a week while also improving surcharge accuracy.
