Harbin heads Freightliner Custom Chassis

Freightliner LLC appointed Robert Harbin president of Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. (FCCC), effective Oct. 1, 2006. Harbin succeeds Reid Bigland, who was recently promoted to president & CEO of DaimlerChrysler Canada

Freightliner LLC appointed Robert Harbin president of Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. (FCCC), effective Oct. 1, 2006. Harbin succeeds Reid Bigland, who was recently promoted to president & CEO of DaimlerChrysler Canada.

Harbin will be responsible for all facets of FCCC, including engineering, manufacturing and sales.

Harbin most recently served as director of Tritec Motors, a joint venture between DaimlerChrysler and BMW in Brazil. He has held several management positions with DaimlerChrysler, including plant manager at the Twinsburg, OH, stamping plant; center manager at the Belvidere, IL, assembly plant; and manager of manufacturing facilities engineering at the Warren stamping and Sterling stamping plants in Michigan.
