A truckers' union in Maryland said that state's largest liquor distributor owes it nearly $900,000 for its pension fund.

Even though Reliable Liquors Inc. was sold to Churchill Distributors LLC earlier this year, Truck Drivers & Helpers Local Union No. 355 said Reliable owes the union's pension fund $895,383.

The union, an affiliate of the Teamsters, says its $256 million pension fund is under funded by more than $20 million, according to documents filed Nov. 25 by Reliable in U.S. District Court in Baltimore.

The fund is also the retirement plan for truck drivers at the Baltimore Sun, Giant Food, Smelkinson Sysco and US Foods.
