UAW agrees to closing

United Auto Worker members have ratified a three-year master contract with Mack Trucks that includes terms for phasing out operations at the Winnesboro, SC, plant. There are 1,067 UAW members at the plant including 385 already laid off. The contract includes early retirement, relocation, severance and out-placement benefits for the Winnesboro members. United Auto Worker members have ratified a three-year master contract with Mack Trucks that includes terms for phasing out operations at the Winnesboro, SC, plant. There are 1,067 UAW members at the plant including 385 already laid off.

The contract includes early retirement, relocation, severance and out-placement benefits for the Winnesboro members. It also covers approximately 2,600 others UAW members working at Mack facilities in Allentown, Macungie and Middletown, PA; Hagerstown and Elkridge, MD; and Morrow, GA.
