    Third-party logistics provider Pacer International has named Carl K. Kooyoomjian as chairman of its retail logistics unit, Pacer Global Logistics.     Third-party logistics provider Pacer International has named Carl K. Kooyoomjian as chairman of its retail logistics unit, Pacer Global Logistics. Kooyoomjian is a former corporate vp of the Coca-Cola Co.

    Kooyoomjian has headed both the strategic global procurement and the concentrate manufacturing functions for Coca-Cola, a $20 billion company. He also served as vp for acquisition and purchasing at Digital Equipment Corp.

    "Carl Kooyoomjian brings to us an unparalleled understanding of supply-chain management requirements from the perspective of a demanding customer," said Don Orris, chairman & CEO of Pacer International.

    Orris said Kooyoomjian will oversee and integrate the company’s retail logistics products, drawing upon his experience in distribution, manufacturing and information technology.
