Deltek hybrid diesel-electric technology from Carrier Transicold, a business unit of United Technologies Corp., won top honors in technical achievement from the Truck Writers of North America (TWNA) at the recent Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) annual meeting in Tampa, FL. The technology is used in refrigerated transport systems produced by Carrier.

The Deltek technology increases reliability and unit life and offers maintenance savings by eliminating most of the mechanical components that require routine service that are common to conventional systems, Carrier said. It uses maintenance-free electric components powered by a new ultra-high performance generator.
