Idle-reduction technology fair

The 49er Travel Plaza in Sacramento, CA, with support from the Sacramento Municipal Utilities District (SMUD), is sponsoring an Idle Reduction Technology Fair from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on September 13. The Fair will feature vendor displays from Pony Pack, ProHeat, Xantrex, IdleAire and others and offer visitors the opportunity to see and compare the performance characteristics and potential cost savings of each system.

“There is a tremendous amount of variation in driver needs and use patterns for idle reduction technology,” notes Bill Wharf, project manager for SMUD. “There is room in the market for a number of different solutions as a result. We hope this event will give drivers and others an opportunity to see some of those options firsthand.”

Visitors to the fair will also have the chance to win a shore power starter kit (the Xantrex Fleet Power 1000 inverter/charger) or a free lunch if they take part in an idle-reduction survey.

The 49er Travel Plaza is located at 2828 El Centro Road in Sacramento. A map and more information is available at www.sacramento49er.com.
